The general rule of thumb for towing is that if the weight of the camper (while loaded) is more than half the weight of the vehicle then the use of a weight distribution system is recommended. The weight distribution systems can also come with sway control and I do recommend this as well because smaller trailers are actually more prone to sway than larger ones.
The Husky Center Line Weight Distribution System part # HT32216 is the best option for the money and it comes ready to go with the hitch ball torqued down and it has integrated sway control. This is just what you need for peace of mind and confidence while out on the road.
