Question:

Looking to purchase this older Yakima holdup bike rack from a friend, Can I add locking cables to this model? If so, which part?

Expert Reply:

On the newer Yakima HoldUp 2 Bike Rack for 2" Hitches part # Y02443 the locks are incorporated into the ends of the arms. Since your hold up is a slightly different design the best option for locking is the Yakima LockUp Hitch Lock and Cable Lock part # Y07238 this allows you to lock the rack and the bikes to the vehicle. The cable loops around the bikes, gets placed onto the anti rattle bolt then locked using the provided lock designed to fit the bolt that came with the HoldUp.
