Question:
I am interested in the Yakima spare tire carrier and high lift jack mount. Which basket can I put on my 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee and wanted to put the full size spare on the roof rack. Thanks in advance,

Expert Reply:
The larger steel tubing on the Yakima MegaWarrior # Y07080 and LoadWarrior # Y07070 roof cargo basket is 1-inch in diameter and the smaller tubing on the bottom is 1/2 inch diameter.
The Yakima Spare Tire Carrier, part # Y07076, is designed to attach to the smaller 1/2 inch tubing on the Yakima roof basket.
The Yakima Hi-Lift Jack Carrier, part # Y07077, is designed to attach to the larger 1-inch steel tubing on the side of the roof basket. It has brackets that attach around the 1-inch diameter tubing.
The mounting brackets would not fit the larger diameter tubing so you should pair this with another Yakima product.
Therefore, I recommend to use the Yakima roof cargo baskets, # Y07080 or # Y07070, on the roof of your 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
With either of the Yakima roof baskets installed on your vehicle you will then be able to use the # Y07077 jack carrier or the # Y07076 spare tire carrier with no problems.
