Yes, since the Curt Rebellion XD Shock Absorbing Adjustable Ball Mount # C45949-22516 uses standard hitch balls you can definitely install a 1-7/8" hitch ball if the need arises to tow a smaller trailer. Just make sure it has a 1-1/4" shank like the Curt Hitch Ball # C48810 does and you're good to go!
