Im thinking about getting the rhino back bone for my Toyota fj cruiser. Instead of using the pioneer platform rack, I was thinking about just adding some cross bars on it. What cross bars would you recommend?

The Rhino-Rack Backbone Mounting System is designed specifically for the Rhino-Rack Pioneer Platform Rack. The correct Rhino-Rack Backbone Mounting System for a 2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser is part # RRRFJB1.
For the Pioneer Platform, you can use part # RR25TB for 84" long x 49" wide or part # RR75TB for 84" x 56" wide.
If you want to add crossbars atop the Rhino-Rack Pioneer Platform Rack you can use the Accessory Bars for Rhino-Rack Pioneer Platform Rack part # RR43137B or part # RR43138B.
That said, you cannot attach crossbars directly to the backbone mounting system.
