Setting Up Weight Distribution on 2019 Ram 2500 With Auto-Leveling

Updated 03/04/2020 | Published 03/02/2020

Question:

When setting up the weight distribution I have sent articles indicating to turn off your auto suspension. Basically turn off auto suspension place controls in Wheel Alignment mode to disable the air suspension. 1 Measure distance from ground to top of front wheel well 2 Add trailer to hitch and measure from ground to top of front wheel well 3 Add weight distribution bars, measure from ground to top of wheel well. The goal is to have the weight distribution bar measurement half way between the unloaded wt distance and the loaded wt w/o load leveling bars. Is this the correct process... turning off the auto air suspension before taking any measurements?

Thank you so much for your purchase of a weight distribution system from etrailer, and I can help you out. It looks like you have the Reese Strait-Line Weight Distribution System # RP66083 or # RP66084. In regards to turning it off, that means turning it off completely so it would not be used at all, before, after or during towing.

Otherwise, for your 2019 Ram 2500, to set up the Reese Strait-Line you purchased from us, you will need to connect the fully loaded trailer and then allow the truck to auto level first. After that has taken place you will go about the process of setting the system up with your measurements.
