From what I was able to find out from my research, the base model of the 2014 Chevy Traverse has a towing capacity of 2000-lbs, so that's the maximum weight you'll be able to safely tow without potentially damaging your vehicle. I would recommend confirming this with your owner's manual for advice on specific trim packages that you may have, but you'll always be limited by the lowest rated component in your towing setup.

In this case, even though the available hitches like the Draw-Tite # 75528 may be rated higher, you are still limited by the 2000-lbs capacity of your vehicle (assuming you have the base model).
