above unit installed un 2005 chev 2500hd works good with brake pedal but side lever will not apply additional braking advise thanks kenny

On the Draw-Tite Activator Brake Controller, part # 5504, if the manual slide is not working and the brake controller is wired properly, then you will want to slide the manual slide back and forth maybe 10 to 15 times to try and get the dirt or dust that might be built up between the slide and the metal strip that is inside the controller.
We have seen that happen before where something will get between the manual slide and the metal contact strip and prevent the slide from making a connection.
If that does not solve the problem, then there is probably a problem inside the brake controller. You will need to replace the brake controller since brake controllers do not have internal serviceable parts.
