Question:
We are hooked up to a flatbed trailer. When I step on brake we get error code 0.0. The contoller works great when I have my RV hooked up. What does this code mean?

It sounds like you have the output control set to 0 on your Draw-Tite Brake Controller, # 5504, which is causing the display to read 0.0 when the brake pedal is pressed. You might need to set the brake controller output setting for your flatbed trailer. The output control knob on the Activator IV can sometimes get bumped and the setting gets changed without your knowledge. Starting with the simplest solution many times solves the issue.
I would start out using the brake controller installation instructions, see link, to setup the brake controller from scratch with the flatbed trailer hooked to the truck. This should solve your issue, if not let me know what you come up with and I will be glad to help further.
