The best option for a trailer hitch receiver on your 1989 Chevy K2500 long bed is the Draw-Tite Max-E-Loader Trailer Hitch Receiver # 41524.
I like this one because it is designed as a custom fit for your truck and the cross tube is mostly hidden. It has a 6,000 lb towing capacity and 600 lb tongue weight capacity.
Keep in mind it will NOT fit if your truck is a Crew Cab.
