Hello, This product says it is compatible with the Yakima skinny warrior cargo carrier. I was under the impression that the skinny warrior was too narrow to accommodate a full size spare tire. Does this product somehow get around this?

The Yakima SkinnyWarrior Roof Rack Cargo Basket # Y07014 is just 23 inches wide, so it would only be able to accommodate a small trailer tire with the Spare Tire Carrier for Yakima Roof Cargo Baskets # Y07076.
So you were right that the SkinnyWarrior is too narrow to use with a full-size spare. For a full-size tire, you will need to use either the 39 inch wide Yakima LoadWarrior Roof Rack Cargo Basket # Y07070 or 48 inch wide Yakima MegaWarrior Roof Rack Cargo Basket # Y07080.
