Will Hopkins HM50002 Smart Hitch Still Work if 7-Way Trailer Isn't Being Used

Question:

I currently have the 7 pin and 4 pin connections on my rear bumper. If I only use the 4 pin for hauling my trailer, and dont have any need for the 7 pin at this time, will the reverse monitor still work?

It sure will. The # HM50002 camera system will still get the signal from the reverse lamps that turn on the system even though the 7-way connector isn't being used. I've linked you to a product description video featuring the Hopkins Smart Hitch camera system.
