I need more room to carry stuff on my Civic. Its a 4door 2013. I dont konw whats best- roof? hitch? something else? I need to carry 3 bikes and whateve else I cant fit in the car. My husband and me plus our daughter and 2 dogs will be in the car so its pretty full

The Rhino Rack cargo basket part # RRRMCB03 is a great solution to carry cargo on the roof of your vehicle but does require a roof rack with crossbars installed on your 2013 Honda Civic so for that you'd want the Rhino Rack roof rack part numbers # RRVA126S-2, # RRRLKVA, and # DK319 and you'd be set.
Then to carry 3 bikes you'll have to use a trunk rack since the hitch options for your vehicle are limited to carrying only 2 bikes since it's a lighter duty vehicle. So for a 3 bike rack confirmed to fit your vehicle the Yakima Fullback 3 part # Y02633 would work really well. It's very easy to install/remove and also very securely carries bikes as well.
If you plan on carrying any women's or alternative framed bikes without horizontal top tubes you may also be interested in purchasing a Kuat Bike Frame Adapter Bar # UB01 to provide a horizontal top tube on your bikes to provide an attachment point. I attached a review video for this product also. This will allow the bikes to be carried more level and will provide more ground clearance.
