Reese Weight Distribution System Spring Bars Won't Slide Into Mounting Holes on Head

Question:
I unpacked the hitch system and went through the parts list laying them all out. I tried to slide the spring bars up into the weight-distribution head as instructed but they would not fit in the lower hole and slide up. Is there anything I can do?

The spring bars for the Reese Weight Distribution System # RP67509 feature a small notch that needs to be lined up with the matching notch on the weight distribution head platform. If this isn't lined up properly the bar won't fit through the mounting hole.
I have attached a full install video below but if you skip ahead to the 6:00 mark you can see this pretty clearly.
If this doesn't resolve the issue please let me know and I will be happy to look into this further.
