Comparing Yakima and Thule is like comparing Nike and Adidas, really. They're both great products and you'll find that the Thule AeroBlade Edge # TH7503-TH7503 and the Yakima RailBar Crossbars # Y00447-0448 are very similar. The one main difference you're going to find between the two bars is that the Yakima RailBars are going to sit a little bit lower, so they'll be closer to your sunroof, which I know was a concern. Both of these bars offer the same T-slot mounting channels and you'll be able to mount the same accessories on both sets of bars. In going back to your original question, I think that considering the sun roof you've got on your 2020 Subaru Ascent, the Thule bars are the best choice for you since they're going to provide you with just a little bit more roof clearance than the Yakima bars. If you wanted to go with the black colored Thule bars, they're available with part # TH7503B-TH7503B . The other thing you'll want to consider to help make sure that the bars are secure is adding some Thule Lock Cores with # TH450400 which is a pack of 4 lock cores and 2 keys. The Thule One-Key system allows you to match all of your Thule products to the same key so that you don't need to mess with having a bunch of keys. This is especially helpful in the event that you decide to add something like a Thule Pulse Rooftop Cargo Box # TH615 at some point in the future- you'll be able to put one of your existing lock cores in and your old keys will work.
