Question:
Have new Aluma trailer. Grease chrome ball???
asked by: Terry H
Expert Reply:
Yes, it is never going to hurt to grease the hitch ball and it would make for disconnecting the coupler easier so I do recommend this. For this, we have the White Grease Hitch Ball Lube part # 58117 which works really well. The hitch ball grease in addition to helping uncouple the trailer will also work to prevent rust. If you wanted to go one step further you could also use the Fastway Trailer Hitch Ball Cover with Tether - 2" Ball Item # FA82-00-3220. I recommend greasing the coupler or ensuing there is still grease present after each trip.
