Question:
The controller on certain random times comes on makes a clicking noise and truck brake lights come on even when trailer is not hooked up. It has drained battery two times in the past month. Also when removing the electrical connections it clicks and even when touching outside it does the clicking sound. Any help would be appreciated.

It sounds like you have some wiring issues with the Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller part # TK90160. The clicking noise is caused by the brake controller turning itself off due to a short detected. Therefore, you will need to check each of the wires for the brake controller and how you have them ran as it sounds like you could have more than one issue. The red wire will go to the cold side of the brake pedal, the white wire will go to the negative battery terminal, the black wire to the positive battery terminal , and the blue wire to the trailer connector. Please check all of these connections as I would be willing to bet this is where the issue resides.
