Installing Thule Replacement Hitch Arm Assembly on Chariot CX2 Stroller
Published 10/11/2019 >
Question:
Hi, I have an older Chariot CX2 from before Thule acquired Chariotsame as you can see at this link Anyhow, I recently purchases your eTrailer-made/branded replacement tow bar however, I noticed that on the end that connects to the stroller/trailer, there is a short lanyard with a clip rather than the longer lanyard and pin that was on the original and that fits into the hole on the trailer. I dont think the new lanyard and clip can attach to anything. If not, whats my backup/safety mechanism. And, why change the designis that for newer versions?

The Replacement Hitch Arm Assembly # 40191109 for your Chariot CX2 Stroller is actually a genuine Thule part (not made or branded by etrailer.com). I am not aware of any design changes for this bar over the years, but the lanyard on the stroller-end will pull through a red loop that should be on the stroller and then clip back to itself using the small D-Ring.
Take a look at the video demonstration I have attached below, specifically starting at around the 3:00 mark. This shows the process of hooking up the bar in pretty good detail.
If you are still having trouble with the bar on your particular CX2 model please let me know and I will be happy to look into this further.
