Question:
The red lens has two filaments. it seems to be only tail lights. The amber works with braking and flashers. Im using an rv adapter from 7 to 6 pin by reese. It seems the wiring might need to be changed for the red to act as a brake light. It shows wiring to each filament in the lens. Please advise, Thanks

The Split Lens Magnetic Towing Taillights part # SPL30B-6 are designed for separate wiring systems in which the brake and turn signal circuits are on separate wires. The wiring system you have is combined which means the brake and turn signal circuits are on the same wire. This is what is causing the turn signal bulb to illuminate when the brakes are pressed. The 6 to 7-pole adapter you are using is not really designed to fix this.
The easiest option for you will be to switch to a set of magnetic tow lights that are designed to be used with a combined wiring system, the Heavy-Duty Magnetic Tow Light Set part # 337TL257M are what I recommend. That said, you can still use the Split Lens Magnetic Towing Taillights you have now if you remove the 6-pole connector, toss the 6 to 7-pole adapter and install the Vehicle-to-Vehicle Taillight Converter part # 118158 with the 7-Way Molded Trailer Wire Connector - 3' Long # H20042.
