Can You Open the Trunk On a 2018 Honda Ridgeline With BAK Revolver X4 Tonneau Cover Installed

Honda Ridgeline 2018 - Can the BAK Revolver X4 be easily removed if extra room is needed ? Tools needed ? Also How much do the side rails protrude horizontally in towards the truck bed ?

The correct BAK Revolver X4 Hard Tonneau Cover for a 2018 Honda Ridgeline is part # BAK79602. In regards to creating extra room, you have two options. The first option is to roll the cover back up towards the cab and use the buckles to secure it in place. If you need more than this then you can remove the entire cover pretty easily because it is only held in place with three clamps per side. These would require one 9/16" wrench/socket and one 1/2" wrench/socket to remove but that is all.
The side rails for the BAK Revolver X4 are about 3" wide on each side. If you were wondering about opening your trunk bed cargo area door then this cover would allow for about 85-90% access. The only option that is offered for the Honda Ridgeline and allows full 100% unimpeded access to the trunk bed cargo area door is the Extang Solid Fold 2.0 Hard Tonneau Cover part # EX83590 because there are no rails.
