Hello, I bought this truck new this year. The OEM hitch # 68265142ab is a bumper mount, and sits too high for my trailers. Im hearing that the existing hitch has to be cut off, to accept the normal design. Is that true?

Congrats on your new truck!

According to the installation instructions of the Draw-Tite Class 5 Trailer Hitch Receiver # 41913, you do not need to cut your factory hitch off as it is bolted on, not welded, as shown in step 3 (see photo). I have also attached a link to the complete installation instructions which you will find very helpful.

The Draw-Tite Hitch # 41913 is a confirmed fit for the 2019 Ram 1500 (not to be confused with the 2019 Ram 1500 Classic) with a factory installed trailer hitch and it will give you the ability to use a standard ball mount like # C45342, for example, with a 5 inch drop.

There is not a hitch currently confirmed to fit a 2019 Ram 1500 Classic with an OEM factory hitch.
