Why Does Vacuum Breaker on RV Tube and Shower Diverter # 277-000023 Need to be Pointing Down

Question:
I read what it is for but I dont understand what vacuum breaker must be pointed downward means. Is that why some water comes out of faucet when diverted to shower?

You are absolutely correct. The vacuum breaker on the RV Tube and Shower Diverter # 277-000023 needs to be pointed down to allow for proper airflow. When you see a bit of water leak out of the system when the shower is used it's basically its way of making sure the vacuum breaker is working.
If you see some water leak out then you know there is air is in the shower hose, which means water can't be siphoned out of a nearby fixture (it's working).
