Question:
Just wanted to dbl check. I have a 01 Tahoe I was looking at the Draw-Tite trailer hitch. I was looking at getting a small travel trailer. Hitch weights seems to be around 400-500+/- and under 5k overall on the trailer the specs seem to be fine on this but wanted to make sure before I got it since this is the 1st time Im looking at a setup to also tow a camper. Thank you for any help. etrailer trailer hitch Part#e26KR

The etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Matte Black Finish - Class III - 2" # e26KR that fits the 2001 Chevy Tahoe has weight capacity rating of 6,000 lbs with a tongue weight rating of 900 lbs. If your trailer's empty tongue weight is 500 lbs then this hitch may not have enough capacity for the trailer. Once you load the trailer with cargo it will exceed the tongue weight rating of the hitch. If 500 lbs is the loaded tongue weight of the trailer then you won't have a problem.
You also want to take into consideration the towing capacity of the Tahoe itself. I was able to find your owner's manual for the 2001 Tahoe and it looks like the max trailer weight is based off of the engine and axle ratio of your vehicle. You want to look at your particular owner's manual to find the towing capacity of your vehicle.
