Comparing Thule Doubletrack Bike Racks # TH990XT and # TH9054

Question:
I know the diferences between weight restrictions, tire width size, wheel base lengths. I think I prefer the frame holder of the #990 to the clamp style tightener of the #9054 and saving money Is there something else I need to consider before finalizing my choice?

Between the Doubletrack # TH990XT and the Doubletrack Pro, # TH9054, I would go with the Pro. The main reason is that the Pro is more versatile because of its rotating and vertical sliding bike frame clamps. It also has an improved tilting mechanism so it is easier to use in that regard as well. The older XT style is a really solid bike rack, but the Pro is an improvement overall so it's what I would personally get. Especially if you plan to carry any womens bikes that have low or swooping top frame tubes which is where the Pro clamps really outclass the XT.
