My CTek is located in the back of the van. Im using an 8 AWG wire but when the engine is running it gets hot and the 30 Fuse flips out..Do i need a 2 AWG wire instead?

I spoke with CTEK about the CTEK D250S Dual Battery Charger 12V- 20a, 5 step, Heavy Duty part # CTEK40186 and 8 gauge wire is sufficient up to 30 feet, if your charger is farther away than that you may want to go to a larger gauge wire like you mention. The CTEK40186 only pushes out 20 Amps so it should not be popping a 30 Amp Fuse, so you do want to be sure it is a 30 amp fuse you are using. You want to make sure both the starter battery and the service battery is fuse protected with a 30 amp fuse. Also if your batteries are not properly grounded or the charger itself, it is going to cause the issues you have explained. I have attached a wiring diagram for your reference.
