Why Does my Draw-Tite Have two Hitch Pin Holes on my 2012 BMW X5

Question:
I have your hitch on my bmw x5. I mount a Thule bike rack to it. I see the hitch has two holes. Should I mount it to the smaller diameter one, which is furthest out? If I mount it to the one thats furthest in, which would probably be more stable, the larger diameter hole causes the whole rack to song from side to side quite a bit. Im happy to mount it to the one furthest out, but just want to make sure things are stable.

The pin hole you should be using is the larger one. The smaller hole is not used.
I would not recommend you use the smaller hole even though it seems to offer a smooth ride for you. Since you have a Thule rack you should be able to just tighten up the threaded pin and that movement should go away.
