Should Firestone Compressor Turn Off and On When Vehicle Is Off

had the firestone bag lift installed and the compressor turns on and off even when truck is off is this normal

The compressor should have a 12 volt keyed source that tells the compressor when to turn on. Most likely someone wired your keyed source straight to the battery which allows it to be active all the time. Which compressor did you install?
