How to Test if Brake Controller is Sending Power Back to 7-Way Connector

Question:
I have a 2013 Chevy Silverado HD Diesel. How do I tell if the brake controler is working? It is mfr installed and when I put a test ligt to the plug it does show a connection

To test any trailer brake controller you simply need to hook a multimeter like part # PTW1714 to the brake controller output pin (5 o'clock position) and see if you are getting about 12V of power when you set the brake controller to the highest setting and apply the brakes manually.
