If you are looking for a product that produces an alarm at a higher volume when backing up, then I would recommend the Custer Surface Mount Back-up Alarm, part # BK97DB. This unit mounts directly to the exterior of your vehicle and produces audible levels of 97db which should be what you are looking for.

The Custer Back-up Alarm has a slight advantage because it is not mounted in the taillight compartment where the volume can be slightly hindered. This unit receives power from the reverse light circuit on the vehicle.
