I have a 2004 F-350 super duty cc p/u. Will I be able to use this with my tailgate down?

When fully extended, the Pilot Automotive Round Tube Hitch Step # CR-600LED measures 9 inches in length, measured from the hitch pin hole to the furthest edge of the step. To determine if the step will clear your tail gate, measure 9 inches rearward from the hitch pin hole in your receiver.
If you find that this hitch step is not long enough, then I recommend taking a look at the Heininger HitchMate Extendable TruckStep, # HE4045. This hitch step can extend up to 23-1/2 inches away from the hitch receiver.
