Does Trailer Hitch for 2013 Audi A4 Require Fascia Trimming for Installation

Question:

I would prefer a Class II hitch to pull a small trailer for mulch, possible small sail boat and I have a Thule 4 bike rake. some of what I have read indicates installation required cutting or modifying the fascia of the bumper. This I do not want. I am hope there is a model for my 2013 Audi A4 Sedan to avoid this.

Both the Draw-Tite # DT24950 and the Curt # C11186 Class I trailer hitches (which are the only ones offered for your Audi) do require the trimming of some fascia to install on your 2013 Audi A4. You can find the exact cutout dimensions in the linked installation instructions for each.

Since this is the case you may be able to tow a small trailer or a small sail boat but you will be limited to only carrying 2 bikes as Class I trailer hitches aren't able to handle the weight that is placed on them with additional bikes. So the Thule T2 # TH23JV would be great but if you are needing to use the 4 bike version you would need a 2" trailer hitch (which unfortunately is not available for your vehicle).

To complete your towing setup you also need wiring like the ZCI Wiring Harness # 119250KIT (which installs without splicing into your OEM wiring), and a ball mount with a hitch ball. Just be sure to reference the linked ball mount article to ensure that you get the correct rise/drop for your towing applications.
