Recommendation for Adding AC Unit to Small Enclosed Trailer

Im considering a roof mount AC unit for my enclosed trailer. Its a 1976 Travel Trailer pop-up camper that was converted to an enclose trailer before I bought it in 2012. Now Im doing a second rebuild. The interior dimensions are roughly 8foot x 6. I saw this question posted before and thought Id asked it again to get a smaller recommendation since my trailer is 8 feet shorter. Thank you.

The best option we have available for your converted enclosed camper is the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner # ACM135BC because it's going to provide the most efficient cooling solution for the camper's interior during those hot summer months. We do not have any smaller AC units available and anything smaller we offer will be something like a powered ceiling fan vent which will only work to circulate air around the camper and not actually cool it down.

As you mentioned in your question this might seem like an over-rated unit for a smaller camper like yours but that is only going to allow it to cool your space quicker without having to use as much power. This particular kit also includes the needed vent assembly along with a start capacitor that uses stored energy to start the AC which should allow you to use a lower-rated/smaller generator.

If you do go with an AC unit (whether it's this one or any other system on the market) you will still need a way to power it. If you don't already have these components you will need a power distribution panel like the Progressive Dynamics # PD4135K and a 30 amp inlet like the Epicord # 277-000138 in Black or # 277-000137 in White. You will then need to add a 30 amp power cord for which the Mighty Cord # A10-3025ED90 will work well.
