Question:
I have a 2018 Toyota 4Runner, and a 2016 Gulfstream Vista Cruiser 17RWD. I would like to install a rear camera on trailer for observation and understand the camera has to be wired into the trailer running lights for full time operation. We ordered the camera but are unable to find a way to get to the electric wiring of the trailer lights. What is the secret to getting to this wiring?

The running lights circuit you need for the activation circuit of the camera of the Rear View Safety Wireless Backup Camera System # RVS-091406 is going to be ran to the trailer taillights. If you look at your taillights there will be a circuit ran to them that has 12 volts when the headlights/running lights of the vehicle are on. You can use a circuit tester like the part # PTW2993 to test the wiring there till you find this circuit and then run it to the camera of the kit.
