Yes, the universal Pilot Aluminum Step part # AS-400 will install on your 2008 Ford Ranger. It installs on the frame on the driver's-side or passenger's-side and has a 300 lb weight capacity.

If you are looking for a more custom fit step alternative, I recommend Aries Nerf Bars for your Ford part # AA203034. The Aries Nerf Bars come with custom hardware to install the 3 inch tube steps to make it easier to get in and out of the truck. The Aries installation does not require drilling holes in the frame like the Pilot steps or other universal applications.

The bars attach to the truck with mounting hardware that comes with the kit part # AA203034. The bars attach using a factory bolt hole that is located on the floor inside the cab of the vehicle in front of the driver's seat beneath the carpet. The other nerf bar options for the Ford Ranger require drilling. I have attached the installation instructions for the Aries bars.
