Hitch Recommendation for 2017 Subaru Outback Wagon for Carrying Thule T2 Bike Rack

Hello! So I saw that someone already answered the first part of my question... Im copying and pasting the info below... Question: Will the T2 fit the class I hitch subaru part number L101SAL013 installed on my 2017 Subaru Outback. Specifically, is the hitch pin hole too close to the end of the receiver to work effectively? asked by: Denny U Expert Reply: The hitch pin hole on the factory 2017 Subaru Outback trailer hitch is much too close to the end of the receiver to safely use many bike racks including the Thule T2 Classic # TH9045. What I recommend is the Lets Go Aero BikeWing-2 2-Bike Rack - 1-1/4inch and 2inch Hitches - horizontal Wheel Mount Item # B01311. It has a threaded pin hole and a regular pin hole. You would need to use the regular pin hole to allow more of the shank to fit in the receiver. Then you would use a regular pin # PC2. The BikeWing is the only rack I recommend for that factory Subaru trailer hitch! I unfortunately have this exact hitch which was just placed on my car, and the the Thule T2 bike rack. My question is... would a receiver tube extender fix this issue if the pinhole depth is greater than 1.5inch on that extender tube? Or do I need to bite the bullet and get a new hitch and/or bike rack?

A hitch extender would not be the ideal solution as it would cut the capacity of the hitch by 50 percent, would add quite a bit of movement and length, and it would have the same shallow hitch pin issues.
Instead the best solution is a new hitch which will allow you to carry your T2 bike rack # TH9045. For that I would recommend the Draw Tite part # 36493 as it will let you carry this rack and also doesn't require the use of a stabilizer strap when carrying a non-supported load like a bike rack like the Curt equivalent for your vehicle does.
