Where Should a Trailer Brake Controller be Mounted on a 2011 Dodge Ram

Question:

According to your website the prodigy P2 is the perfect brake controller for a 2011 Ram truck . I agree your wiring harness fits perfectly with the factory wiring harness BUT where do you propose to mount the controller without interfering with the emergency brake release or with the center flip down cup holder? I tried to mount it in the factory in dash controller bezel and that doesnt work either!! I am not going to mount it on the top of the dash and then drill holes in a new truck. Your website says that the install is piece of cake PLEASE EXPLAIN ? I just checked the Ram Forum web site and Im not the only one facing this problem I purchased this controller from E-Trailer based on your websites recommendation NOW WHAT DO I DO ?

I checked out some images of the interior of a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500, 2500, and 3500. It looks like you should be able to mount the controller to he right of the steering column and to the left of the center console. This may interfere with where your knee would be so another option is on the right side of the steering column near the bottom of the dash.

The P2, # 90885 can be mounted a full 360 degrees in the direction of travel. So you can mount the bracket flat against the dash to the left or right of the steering column facing straight up. As long as it is not tilted to the left or right or turned to one side or the other, it will work. See the instructions, linked for reference, for a better idea of the 360 degree mounting range.

There is no specific place you have to mount it so long that it is within easy reach of the driver. If you are not towing, you can always unplug the controller and store it in the glove box if you find you have to mount it in a less than ideal location.
