Is there a way to connect and operate this lock, if I have manual door locks? Maybe some kind of remote? Thanks

We have tailgate locks that will work great on your 2004 Ford Ranger that does not have power locks like the Pop and Lock part # PAL2310 but since you do not have power door locks you wouldn't be able to install the Pace Edwards PowerGate Electric Tailgate Lock # 311-LK350 and use it with a key fob. It requires wiring to power door lock circuits for activation and since your vehicle does not have that feature it wouldn't be possible.
