Question:
Does this generator produce 5 or less harmonic distortion? I will be using this generator to power an Everlast 251 si welding machine

I spoke with my contact at Firman and he said that the 10,000 Watt Portable Generator # 333-H08051 has a total harmonic distortion of 25 percent, which is pretty standard for this type of generator.
For a "clean electricity" unit you will need to go with an inverter generator like the etrailer.com # 333-0003-2-0007. These 2 single generators can be ran parallel to provide 6,000 watts of starting power and 5,500 watts of running power. This is the highest rated inverter generator set we have available. They have less than 3 percent total harmonic distortion.
I have attached a short video demonstration that you can check out as well.

Well, call me confused. I am looking at Firman 7500W gen at Costco. The price is fantastic. So I read the reviews and one man gave it one star. He stated that this particular brand has a THD of 25%! Then the shocker, he said normal was 9-10%! I also read on other sites that 10% is acceptable. Nowhere did I see 25% as close to OK. Here you stat that is the norm for this kind of generator. I don't want to purchase and then worry if I plug the wrong item into it that is the end of the item. And what do you mean by "this kind of Generator"? Regards,
