Is New Base Required for Trailer Valet XL 2 Inch Ball Conversion from 2-5/16 Inch Ball?

Question:

I just bought the Trailer Valet XL and it came with the 2 5/16 ball. We only need a 2 inch ball. Im confused by the description on their website about whether I can just purchase the 2 inch ball without the base and whether it will work in the base that came with the Trailer Valet 2 5/16 ball? I dont want to have to buy the whole base with the 2inch ball if I dont have to.

The base simply makes exchanging between two hitch ball options easy because no wrench is required. Since it sounds like you simply need the 2 inch ball you will just need the hitch ball # TVHB2 and not the combination with the base. This hitch ball will work perfectly in the base of your Trailer Valet XL # TVXL25.
