Bike Rack Replacement Cradle on Discontinued Old Bike Rack

Question:
I’m having trouble getting the screw loose on a old draw tight bike rack to replace cradles/straps. It’s an Allen key that is needed and I’m using but it keeps turning even holding the other side. I’m thinking of just cutting it off unless you have suggestions? I live near etrailer and wondering if I try a replacement cradle can I return it to the store if it doesn’t work? Or does it have to be shipped at my expense? I can no longer purchase the parts for this bike rack but believe I found a perfect fit on your site. Thanks for your help.

It sounds like you need to drill out the screw on your old rack because the threading has been stripped out. We have many replacement cradle options so you will simply need to know the diameter of your bars to determine fit. I've linked the page to your options to assist. Many new cradles will not have a screw to fasten so drilling out the old one is not an issue for future compatibility.
