Question:
My husband has 2010 Prius which currently has a Hollywood Bike Rack. The issue is that there is not enough clearance between the ground and the bike rack to keep it from scraping the driveway when he backs out.We have a steep driveway. Will the Thule Helim provide more than 9 inches between the ground and the rack? It looks like it based on the design but I want to be sure. Thanks

I am not certain the Thule Helium, # TH9042PRO, would be the best option. If the rack is going to contact that ground, it would happen at the straight piece (shank) that fits into the receiver. At the lowest point, it sticks down 3/4 inches from the bottom of the trailer hitch receiver opening.
At the bottom of the upright bar, it is 4 inches from the top of the receiver opening.
What I recommend is a bike rack that has a rise on it immediately from the trailer hitch.Take a look at the Swagman Trailhead 2, # S63360. It has a 3 inch rise. But the benefit is the rise stars sooner than on the Helium. Measure from the ground to the top of the receiver opening on your hitch and then add 3 inches to determine if you will have enough clearance.
I have included a link to the installation details for the Trailhead for you.
