Question:
We need a bike rack hitch for our Sienna but we have a steep driveway entrance and our old Odyssey's hitch tended to scrape on the ground when we pulled in. What is the best hitch for us to avoid this issue?

Vehicles like the Toyota Sienna and Honda Odyssey that have a low stance can sometimes have ground clearance issues with a hitch installed. Tire size, passenger count and cargo load all affect your actual ground clearance but you can choose a hitch that will offer the most clearance to get you into your driveway.
The best option is the EcoHitch model with concealed cross tube, part # 306-X7255. When we installed this on a 2017 Sienna the top of the receiver opening was 13-1/4-inches above the ground. This is shown in the linked installation video. Naturally the actual height on your van will be a function of the factors noted above.
You can help avoid hitch contact with the ground by approaching your driveway entrance at a sharper angle, rather than straight on.
