Question:
Hi, my carbon dioxide alarm keeps alternating red and yellow. How serious is this? Does it need to be replaced?

You will most likely need to replace your Atwood carbon monoxide/LP gas detector # AT36681. It has a 7-year lifespan and if it has been in service longer than that it may not function properly. There are several things that the flashing lights could indicate:
Power visual indicator flashing means the detector's power supply voltage is too high or too low.
Carbon Monoxide indicator flashing means the CO alarm is disabled because the alarm is resetting or stabilizing OR the unit has gone into fault mode (which could mean a sensor is bad).
Propane indicator flashing indicates that the LP alarm is disabled because the alarm is resetting or stabilizing OR the unit has gone into fault mode (which could mean a sensor is bad).
