The Derale Tornado Electric Fan # D16617 has a built-in 12V electric motor to power it. The motor will draw 4.8-amps of current at 12-volts from the vehicle battery.

This fan will not use engine power to function the way belt-driven fans do. In addition, you do not have to worry about an electric fan's slowing down at low RPM, as many belt-driven fans do, so you are guaranteed sufficient airflow regardless of the vehicle speed.
