Drop Dimensions of the Lippert 1-1/4 Inch Trailer Hitch Receiver 240220

Question:
I am trying to assess whether this hitch will clear the rear bumper of my RV. On my RV I have about 2 1/4inch from the bottom of the I-Beam to the bottom of the bumper picture attached. Assuming I install the hitch as low on the I-Beam as possible, will the receiver still be too tall to clear my bumper?

I went out to our warehouse and took some useful measurements of the Lippert 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch Receiver part # LC240220 for you. The side brackets on the hitch are 8" long x 4" wide. The distance from the bottom edge of the bracket to the top of the receiver tube collar is right at 2-3/4". Therefore in order to make above hitch work for you, you would need to trim the bottom of the bracket about 1/4".
