Question:
We got our 2019 HR-V without a Honda roof rack because we have an old one that we were told would fit. It does not. The HR-V roof has strips that run down the sides. We need a roof rack that will let us use one of the Trunx Rooftop Cargo Carriers. And do you sell ladders? I'm under 5-feet! Thanks so much.

I am happy to help you with an aftermarket roof rack for your 2019 HR-V so you can use a rooftop cargo box like the 18-cubic-foot Trunx Rooftop Cargo Box # TRX34FR or 9-cubic-foot Trunx Rooftop Cargo Box # TRX44FR.
Let's start with a roof rack. Since your HR-V has the roof style with the flush-mounted front-to-back rails I recommend the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero system made of parts # RRVA126B-2 and # RRSX100. I like this rack for your HR-V because it offers the same kind of quiet aerodynamic crossbars as the costlier Thule AeroBlade racks but at a substantially lower price. You do not sacrifice anything in terms of weight capacity, styling or safety. The rack's aluminum bars, part # RRVA126B-2, feature a black finish which I like as it tends to distract less from the vehicle's appearance.
Both of the Trunx Rooftop Cargo Carriers noted above will fit fine on these aero-style bars. These carriers offer excellent value in a USA-made carrier. Both feature durable thermoplastic construction and an aerodynamic shape. The larger model has a lid that opens at the rear as shown in the included photo while the smaller model's lid opens to the passenger side. Both feature simple tool-free installation using u-bolts and wing knobs. Please refer to the two videos on these boxes to see all of their features.
We do sell RV ladders like # LA-460B but for your cargo box application I instead recommend the Telesteps Folding Step Stool # TE97FR. This step is super-lightweight thanks to its aluminum construction and it comes fully assembled. Simply unfold it and you instantly have a foot of extra reach for loading and unloading. When you're done just fold it closed and toss it in the cargo box or inside the HR-V until you need it. I own one of these steps and we find it really useful both around the kitchen (for getting to those tall cabinet shelves) and around the garage and yard.
