Question:
I have a 2013 Ford F-150 6 1/2 ft bed. I bought a used Reese slider and I need to figure out the measurements for the base rails for a slider. Do I measure from the rear of the bed to front plate and place the rear plate according to my fith wheel or vice versa ? And what are those measurements Thx

For your 2013 Ford F-150 with 6-1/2 foot bed, if you are using a universal fit rail kit like the Reese Universal Base Rails and Installation Kit for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches - 10 Bolt # RP30035 then you will need the Reese Installation Kit for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches - Ford F-150 # RP58426 which has instructions that state to measure 29-5/16 inches from the rear edge of the truck bed to the rear edge of the base rail. I've attached the installation instructions to help further.
If you don't want to do the measuring, I highly recommend the Reese Quick-Install Custom Installation Kit w/ Base Rails for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # RP50081-58 for a much faster and easier installation. If you already have the Industry standard rails and hardware then you simply use the custom brackets # RP50081 for that precise fit that doesn't require drilling into your truck frame rails.
You may also want to consider adding the Hopkins Endurance 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness with 7-Pole Plug # 41157 to make your wiring connection easier and give it a clean look as well.
