Im putting a curts folding goose neck hitch ball platform in my 98 gmc extend cab k 1500 Im making the under Keith brackets but need to know where the plate need to be for centered I measure from the end of the bed up to 44 3/4

The Curt Overbed, Folding Ball Gooseneck Trailer Hitch with Installation Kit # C61503-52 is the correct fit for your 1998 GMC K1500. This kit will put the rear cross rail 3-6 inches in front of the rear axle but the hitch ball platform location will be based on those rails. The attached installation details will give you the only measurements needed.
If you have the plate but not the custom rails, you will need # C61503 for a custom fit installation. The Folding Ball Gooseneck Hitch # C-52 can be installed with alternative rails, but you will need to calculate the measurements using the attached installation instruction calculations. I've attached the rough dimensions given in the instructions to assist.
