Is Trailer Hitch Towing Capacity Same Capacity as Vehicle Weight it Can Flat Tow

Question:
Greetings, Question: How much vehicle weight can I tow safely when my hitch weight says #5000 ball mount limit and Im using a Roadmaster or similar tow bar to tow a toad? The car Im considering as a toad is approx #4200-#5200 depending on the source of the specs. Seems as the ball weight is very little as the tow bar is receiver type. Thanks

If your trailer hitch says it has a 5,000 lb weight capacity then you can flat tow a vehicle up to 5,000 lbs. You'd want to confirm the weight of the car you are wanting to flat tow and be sure it's under 5,000 lbs.
