Since there are not trunk mounted bike racks that fit a 2014 Volkwagen Beetle convertible you'd have to look into a hitch mounted option. For that you'd need to start with a hitch like the Curt part # C11354 which is a confirmed fit.
For a bike rack I really like the Hollywood Racks Destination Bike Rack , # HLY94FR.
This is a platform bike rack that only weighs 20 lbs. The biggest drawback to platform bike racks has always been the weight of them, but with this rack you get the best of both worlds. The preferred attachment style with the lighter weight. You will also need a stabilizer strap # 18050 for bike racks or cargo racks on the Curt hitch.
